Scenario
A customer requests 1.00 lot. The LP executes 0.40 and rejects 0.60. The bridge should preserve the exact customer-side order state, 0.40 hedged exposure, the remaining risk and reason for the rejection.
Connectivity guide
A bridge coordinates trading-platform order flow with liquidity, execution and risk-management infrastructure.

A bridge is the controlled boundary between the broker's permitted trading environment, price and execution venues. A simple LP connector is not an end-to-end execution risk system. Compare mapping, FIX session state, STP versus hybrid routing and reconciliation rather than a latency marketing claim.
These are conditional technical/business choices, not fabricated vendor ratings or test results. Validate any supplier's actual capabilities in an approved environment.
| Decision | Approach A | Approach B / limitations | Selection outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single LP versus aggregation | One venue simplifies quote and fill reconciliation but concentrates venue/credit failure risk. | Multiple venues can improve executable depth, but add price prioritisation, routing and partial-fill states. | Request matched-size quotes, LP credit/eligibility evidence and disconnect replay. |
| Full STP versus hybrid dealing | External hedges transfer confirmed eligible order risk to the contracted LP. | Hybrid policies can internalise permitted flow, but demand dealer limits and reviewable exposure controls. | Simulate LP rejects, delayed hedges and rule changes with full trade audit. |
| Symbol mapping versus FIX session | MT5 groups and LP symbols must align contract size, lot step, digits and market hours. | FIX must handle order IDs, sequence/reconnect, resend, duplicate suppression and status reconciliation. | Accept only when MT5 ticket, bridge record and LP fill reconcile. |

Trace: client ticket → platform group/symbol → bridge route and order ID → LP execution ID → filled quantity × executable price → client and dealer exposure. Record server/LP timestamps.
Disable the venue after an order is sent but before its acknowledgement; never blindly send the same ambiguous hedge again. Recover using actual execution IDs and status before deciding whether any new order is safe.
Separate MT5 platform privileges and licensor charges from bridge setup/subscription, LP credit/onboarding, FIX sessions, market data, backup infrastructure, venue usage and operator support.

Implementation sequence
Each stage depends on decisions and connections made earlier. Use this sequence to avoid rebuilding systems later.
STEP 01
Document which order flow should be internalised, hedged or sent externally and how rules vary by symbol, account group and exposure.
STEP 02
Align symbols, contract sizes, price precision, sessions, swaps and account groups across MT5, the bridge and liquidity providers.
STEP 03
Set routing priorities, mark-ups, rejection handling, maximum deviation, aggregation logic and fallback behaviour.
STEP 04
Run controlled execution tests, review latency and fills, reconcile positions and define alerts for disconnects, abnormal pricing or routing failures.
Quick evaluation answer
Begin with documented business requirements and the implementation steps above. Ask vendors or internal teams to demonstrate a normal workflow, an exception, permissions, audit logs and a recovery plan. Compare the full cost and responsibilities with the same acceptance criteria. Commercial technology selection is not a substitute for any applicable licensing or compliance advice.
